An acute childhood illness that affects many systems in the body. It is also called [ Mucocutaneous Lymph Node Syndrome ]. The condition was first observed in Japan in the 1960's. It is becoming increasingly common in western countries. Kawasaki disease usually occurs in the first two years of life. The cause is unknown.
