Why are asians most affected with kawasaki disease?

Kawasaki disease is a children's illness. It's also known as Kawasaki syndrome or mucocutaneouslymph node syndrome. It and acute rheumatic fever are the two leading causes of acquired heart disease in children in the US and Japan.
About 80 percent of the people with Kawasaki disease are under age five. Children over age eight are rarely affected. The disease occurs more often among boys (over 60 percent) and among those of Asian and Afro-Caribbean ancestry. But it can occur in every racial and ethnic group. Less than 1 percent of those who acquire it die. There is a great deal of evidence suggesting that Kawasaki disease is caused by an infectious causative agent, possibly leading to disease in genetically susceptible hosts. There are many possible causes currently being investigated. A great deal of attention has been given to the possibility that an infectious agent producing a toxin that is capable of stimulating the inflammation exhibited could cause the disease. However, no such agent has been identified and there have been conflicting experimental results. There has been no evidence to define why KD should affect Asian of Afro-Carribean children more than children of other races.
