I have juvenile diabetes and depression. I am 20 years old and have been trying to lose 20 lbs but keep gettin

It's not uncommon for people to become overwhelmed and down from diabetes, especially when you add another challenge on top of it like weight loss, job stress, or caring for another.

The best advice I can give is remember moderation. It's not just a matter of eating better food, but know when it's enough to satisfy your hunger. Between meal healthy snacks should help keep the hunger down for mealtime. Exercise doesn't have to mean running three miles a day. Start off easy, just walking around the block. After about a week or two of that, it will seem so easy. Don't set your goals too high too soon or it's far too easy to get agitated about them and cop out. The important thing is to start and take your time working your way up. You don't have to lose those 20 pounds in a few weeks.

with stress and depression you release cortisol, a hormone that tends to make us hold onto calories. the insuline issues do the same thing. I know exercise is one of the only answers, along with a healthy diet, but because of your medical issues, I think you should ask your doctor for a referral to a dietician at your local hospital. your meds for depression can sometimes cause weight gain. keep trying. the extra exercise is good for fighting depression anyway, and will make you stronger. don't try diet pills etc. they don't work and are dangerous. How is your food plan?? are you eating whatever you want and covering it with insulin?

You know of course, the more insulin you have to take to cover the grams of carb, the easier it is to gain instead of loose weight!!
