Are there any associated risk factors between juvenile asthma and juvenile diabetes? |
Are there any associated risk factors between juvenile asthma and juvenile diabetes? Yes. Juvenile diabetes most often is caused by an autoimmune response (the body attacks it's own Beta cells in the pancreas that produce insulin). As far as I know, there are no associated risk factors between asthma and diabetes, but they both have hereditarial tendancies. Whether or not you have either, if diabetes runs in your family, you are always at risk of developing it, so look after yourself and be sure to have an occassional blood sugar test done with your doctor. |
