Could this be diabetes???? |
my sister is sixteen. she was complaining about all of these "health issues" that she has. for example, she says that her feet fall alseep easily when she sits cross-legged. she also told me that sometimes when she wakes up, her tongue is numb! is that wierd or what?! she also is often hungry and thirsty. she told my mom and me this and my mom said it might be juvenile diabetes. i really doubt that. could this be diabetes? the only person who has diabetes in my family is my grandpa and he has type two. she also told me that she almost passed out in her yoga class. personally, i think she is just saying all of this to get attention. but if what she says is true, what could it mean? could it really be juvenile diabetes? she doesnt have any other health problems that we know about. she is about ten or fifteen pounds overweight though some symptoms of juvenile diabetes are : If you are concerned get her to a doctor. A simple blood test can determine whether or not she has diabetes. In the meantime she should eat healthy, drink water and exercise. uhm...I really don't know. Some of the symptoms sound like it. For ex: passing out!!! My mother has diabetes and she would pass out. Also, my neighbor fell asleep while driving this week and crashed her SUV. Turns out she has diabetes. She went to the doctor but this woman doesn't take care of herself. She gained 100 lbs this year alone. If your sister is only ten or fifteen lbs overweight then maybe it's not diabetes but something else that needs to be checked. Maybe nerves. My bf's mother legs would fall asleep very easily and she had problems with nerves. I think it could be several things. I think the best decision is to go to the dr. =D Hope i helped. God bless and Happy new years. Get your sister to a Doctor your not gona get the right answer here. Diabetes is no joke. It's in your family if your grandfather has it. Good Luck to all of you. |
