Is anyone diabetic?

im 16f and i have type one juvenile diabetes. just curious to c who's wit me!

I am 41 and have type 1 diabetes for 39 years (most of my family believes that I have had it all my life, tho). I was on shots until about 4 years ago. At that point, I was up to 4-6 shots a day!! I have been on an insulin pump for 4 years now and have the best control I have ever had in my life!

acutally i am too, i take insulin shots everyday, they dont hurt now and its not that bad, just i watch my blood sugar. :)

I'm there, babe!...grin. You're not alone

i'm not diabetic.. but it runs on both sides of the family.. so i try to watch what i eat.. i'm with you!

Most everyone in my family is so I know a lot about it

44 now 30 years taking shots the most important thing is to check your bloodsugar often hope it goes well, i have many more thoughts on this, but will not comment now. The care is so much better now, hold on as best you can a cure might happen in your lifetime.

I'm type 2, but I know some of what you are going through, because I started out being insulin dependent when I was first diagnosed. Between diet, exercise, luck and cinnamon (!!) I managed to get off insulin and just take pills now.

The cinnamon gave me the last piece of the puzzle; I was getting better, but when I started to take cinnamon, it really helped. No, it's not crazy. There was a government study that showed how glucose levels in type 2's were lowered and stabilized by the consumption of cinnamon extract. I use the real thing because extract is hard to get. I take about a teaspoon a day. That is a ton of cinnamon and it burns like hell, so I mix it with liquid sweetener. But it is sure better than shots.

I'm a type 2 and have been '69. (Agent Orange defoliant caused.) I take Metformin twice a day. I am careful (usually) with what I eat and get exercise.
Watch what you eat, exercise and loose weight if you need to.
I am almost 58, male and have been diabetic for over twice as long as you've been alive.
How long have you been diabetic?

I am. I was 16 when I got type 1, and I'm 45 now. Take care of yourself, you can be here for the cure!

Good luck!
