I need some help answering a question ...?


In need of licensed funeral directors/embalmers help.

M.E. Case

3 year old, male, full autopsy, eye enucleation
Cause of death: cardiorespiratory arrest due to Juvenile diabetes
Presents with: ecchymosis to right cheek and ear, neck, hands and forearms; petechial hemorrhages to abdomen and lower legs; edema to both hands and feet.
Hearing aids in both ears.
Date of death: January 20, 2007
Release from M.E. & Embalming: January 22, 2007
Sister lives in Australia and will arrive in the U.S. on January 31.
Visitation: February 1 & 2 with funeral on February 3.
Clothing/Toys: Elmo pajamas, toy helicopter, fire truck & baseball mitt. No hat.

How will the delays affect the embalming? 1st delay between death and release by M.E. 2nd delay between preparation and visitation. Discuss custodial care practices.
Discuss body positioning & feature setting.
Discuss fluid selection & dilution and injection protocol.
