Jock itch or herpes???

im having itch around my genital area for 3 months now.... there is this red patch and some time black/dry patch around it, it itches alot when im sleeping and don't itch so much when im awake but it do get itchy when i start to scratch it

some overview :
-im not fat(some says fat around the area rubbing together that cause it)
-im in a long term relationship, im not a high risk individual
-kinda started after i started to wash around that area and scrapping some stubborn dirt out of there, it then started to form a white and dry scale(i thought it was some skin falling off) then it started to become light red and brown colour now, it was kinda dry until i started applying some hygeinic handwash gel, now the patch doesn't seem to be so dry and hard but soft

in my case what am i having?i been reading about STD and herpes came up as a possible symptom, i then search the internet for a picture of it but my appear less worse so am i having jock itch?how to cure any of those?

You may be getting a reaction from the handwash gel. Stop using the gel and get a medicated powder. Cruex is a brand that handles jock itch and other things. Keep it dry, don't use that gel, use the medicated powder. If it gets worse or just won't go away go to the doctor. With the powder it should start to get better in about three weeks at least.

it's ring worm... same as jock itch.... just buy OTC stuff and kill it... it'll take a month twice a day....

Try a Lotrimin ointment. This should take care of your patch if it is in fact jock itch. There are so many things that effect the skin. Your best bet is to go see your family doctor and get a good diagnosis and the best treatment.
