Have i gotten jock itch from my boyfriend or what is this? |
okay my boyfriend got jock itch about 2 months ago, since then i have noticed thick white cottage cheese like discharge with no other symptoms. i thought it was a yeast infection but i have no other symptoms and im pretty sure it isnt an std b/c we've only been with each other before. it finally went away for a couple of days and the first time we had sex again since it got better he is noticing he is getting jock itch again. its like we keep passing it back and forth. what is it and what can we do to get rid of it? Jock itch and yeast infections are both fungal infections. It sounds like you guys are passing it back and forth to each other. You both need to get treated, and make sure the infection is gone from both of you before having unprotected sex again. Check with your doctor, because it sounds like topical treatments are not completely killing the infection. You both may need an oral medication. Be sure it is jock itch! He could be full of it....But you need to still take yest infection meds to get rid of the discharge Go see a doctor!! it still could be a yeast infection or other type of infection, get to the doc and have them do a culture. It might just be a matter of a simple treatment. Don't be afraid to be honest with your doctor. Both you and your boyfriend need to take care of your health sounds like an std or yeast infection. you shouldnt have touch him while he had this. both of you need to see the doctor and get treated and no sex til your bot off the meds Go make an appt with your OB-Gyn or Planned Parenthood. They will tell you what it is and how to get rid of it. Jock itch can be a yeast infection - so yes, you are just passing it back and forth between you. You both need to be treated - him with a topical cream, and you with monistat or diflucan - before you have unprotected sex again - make sure it's totally gone away. Fortunately, yeast infections and fungal infections (tinea cruris) can be treated with the same medications, so if you both treat yourselves well and simultaneously, there should be no big problem, though tinea does take a fairly long course of treatment for eradication. If simple treatments don't work, prescription treatments will. go to a doctor and get that checked you never know what it can be if you procrastinate and wait for it to get better it can get worse you both should go to a doctor |
