My balls smell and itch...Jock itch maybe?

I think i may have jock itch. I wear boxers. I cant clean my balls with soap or shampoo cuz they all make them itch WORSE! i cant go to a doctor for certain reason. i dont want my parents to kno. the part where my balls touch the side of my legs are brused from the itching and stickyness of my balls...HOW CAN I STOP ALL OF THIS. ive been using Lamisil for about a week now. it stops the itching for a little while but they still itch a bit and smell BAD! HELP!

I hate asking ppl I dont know for Personal Needs..."hey I have jock itch, can you help me find a better cream?"

seems really weird. Like one time I went into CVS and bought lube, there was an old lady at the counter so im like, im cool. then this girl walks out from the back, i could see her cuz she was behind some racks. then she shouts I can help whose next. I go up to the counter and find that it was my old friend that I havent seen since she graduated 3 years ago...ugh

Yes this is Jock itch but you need to use the meds at least 2-3 times a day and wash and dry your scrotum well with a mild soap and water. Try using ivory bar soap. Also if the lamasil isn't working try a different brand of antifungal.

anti fungal cream..
feels nice too . hahaaahah

dude the guy above me stole my name.. grrr

Lamasil is probably a good choice. Try washing and drying thoroughly and then apply the Lamasil immediately. You can use it pretty often. If it doesn't give you real relief after another week or so, ask the pharmacist where you got the Lamasil, or at any drug store. They can probably recommend something that doesn't require a prescription. Good luck.

it could be a rash or crotch rot possibly,if thats the case zinc ointment(aka destin or diper rash cream) works. if it is a fungus of some kind and lamisel isnt working my best guess is ask a pharmisist for another cream specificly for jock itch and if thay doesnt work your gunna have to see a doctor
good luck

its fungal infection, try fungal infection powders

you should go to the dr and get checked if the lamsil hasn,t cleared it up its probaley a std

Well I think its because you are wearing boxers there is friction between your balls and legs so I suggest you wear brief to minimize it, dude try using moisturizing soap to clean your balls I think another reason it is itching when you wash it its because it is dry, and I think lamisil helps in giving it a bit of moisture, and the another reason its still itch is because it is dirty so wash it and try to visit the doctor on your own

switch to breifs for awhile, they keep things tighter and dryer.
boxers are the worst for flopping around and rubbing things raw. Have you taken an antibiotic lately. these kill the good bactyeria that fight the ones that make jock itch,Also dont use antibiotic soaps, these disrupt the proper balace of things too. It may sting a bit, but wipe your self off with witch hazel, or rubbing alcohol, for a few days and then let it dry real good, even use a blow dryer to dry off with. moisture and heat makes this a lot worse. Not much you can do in the summertime.

No matter what your comfort level is, you must see a doctor soon. In the meanwhile use warm water and mix in some baking soda (external rinse only), then use a blow dryer, to make sure there is no left over moisture. Get as much air as possible (like sleeping naked and using boxers instead of briefs) You can use Ammens , Arm and Hamer or Johnson & Johnson's corn starch powder. For a mild soap, use PHYSODERM. If you want to get rest while waiting for your appointment, take a benedryl (be prepared to sleep for a while) . You can also bathe in Aveno bath powder. Put it in your bath to aleviate the discomfort.

Most importantly: Girls, this goes for you too.

I had this also when I was going to the gym regularly. When you scratch a smelly fluid will come from the area scratched. You need to keep these areas DRY! Get jock itch powder. Previously wash your self with just warm water and a soap like nutragena, one that has no chem's in it. Dry yourself dry, use a blow dryer if you have to in order to make sure everything is dry. Change your underwear ever day! Always put that powder on and keep the areas affected constantly dry with the anti fungal powder. If does not help, go talk to your PE coach or someone that you know that can help you out. It can get pretty bad and spread. Good Luck!

Two thoughts:

1) Are you using anti-bacterial soap in the area. If so, stop! Anti-bacterial soap kills all the beneficial bacteria that keep fungus from taking over your skin. Go to a health food store and ask for some pro-biotics (not kidding - that's what they are called). Or get some yogurt with live cultures. Your skin was never meant to be sterile, and if you destroy the normal flora, fungus have a big population explosion. The only way to keep fungus down is to encourage the good bacteria.

2) Have you shaved the area? Hair cuts way down on chafing, and it also helps air circulate down there, and fungus like moist areas with poor air circulation. Get some Gold Bond powder to use until the hair grows out -- that will keep you a bit drier. Aloe vera gel (sold for sunburn) can also help keep you more comfortable. But letting the hair grow is the most important thing.

If you have not been shaving or using the anti-bacterial soap, then your problem may be more serious, and seeing a doctor may be the only option.

Good luck!
