I'm a girl, don't play sports, and have jock itch?

What the heck.. How did I get jock itch?
I'm guessing I got it from my partner?
I have had the same boyfriend for the past 6 months, and it's definitely jock itch.. a circle, itches, flaky, normal in the middle..
Now I'm embarassed to bring it up to him.. haha
How do I get rid of this?
Thanks for answering my questions!

Despite what a lot of people think, girls CAN & DO get jock itch. They can get it from it getting a little too warm and humid "down there." I have no idea how old you are, but if you are too young to go to the doctor by yourself, then you need to tell your mom and get her to take you. I wouldn't recommend going out and buying jock itch products because they are mostly geared toward guys, and we are a little more sensitive down there. The doc may know of something better for you to use. If it is really hot where you live, then you should probably try changing your underwear a couple of times a day. Hope this helps!

It's not jock itch. Get it checked out!

It may not be your partner...You could possibly have a yeast infection that is causing the symtoms...

Sounds like a ring worm to me. They're round, clear in the middle, itch and flake.
Check your local pharmacy.

Ok, to my knowledge, jock itch is effectively a yeast infection, Men do not produce yeast infections, but we can contract them from our female partners. So, you either a) have develped a yeast infection on your own, or b) have been cheated on by your man who got with someone who had a yeast infection when they had sex. That would be a bit of a surprise mind you since sex with a yeast infection is generally very unpleasant for a woman.

Go to your gyno and have them have a gander. They can tell you what's wrong and how to treat it.

DO NOT jump to any conclusions about your man straying either.

'jock itch' is a fungal infection. They call it 'jock itch' because it gets transferred up from the feet into the groin area, typically guys wipe from the bottom (their feet) up so it gets onto the towel from their feet (athletes foot) and then they dry off their privates and transfer it there (nice warm spot with some humidity ;-) ). Yes, I think you got it from him... and I think you might want to mention it to him... if you have a good, open relationship with him and can discuss these things ;-)

The source below discusses ringworm which is essentially jock itch.
