Jet Lag Help? 10 points to the person who answers first?

Hi,

I just got back from Canada (12 hour difference from where I am) and I am not tired one bit! It's 8:20pm here right now and I am wide awake. I want to sleep through the night so I am not asleep for the whole day tomorrow. Then on Thursday is my first day of school. I want my body clock to be normal! Is there any tricks to make myself tired for 10ish? Which is an hour and a half from now. Please don't resort to medicines/drugs.

Please Help
Jason

I Find that preparing for sleep is just as important as sleeping.A Hot soak in the tub or Shower.Followed by a Dark room.
Eat at least 3 hours before you sleep.
Even if you are not tired, the lying still in a Dark Place will help adjust your body clock.

I use a Herbal remedy called Melatonin,it's great for stabilizing sleep patterns with NO Drug after affects.

hot tea or coffee? sugar? soda or energy drinks?

Exercise and perhaps some heavy food to lull you to sleep. Make sure you cut out all distractions (light, noise, etc) so you won't wake up in the middle of the night. It will take you a few days to completely catch up, but aim for 6 hours or so of sleep tonight, and perhaps a 1 hour nap tomorrow afternoon, and you should be fine for school.

I would go workout at the gym or go running....try to get some of your energy out. You could also try eating turkey which has chemicals which make you sleepy...or a warm glass of milk. A hot bath helps too. You could also read.

Well as weird as this sounds, hit the gym for an hour. The only thing that is going to tire you is using your stored energy. You can try a heavy meal if you want to stay home. Carbs tend to sit in your stomach and make you sleepy.

Do an exercise video now. Then chill for an hour. Drink some milk and a turkey sandwich before bed (both contain tryptophan).

Good luck in school!
