Ways not to get jet lag?

Ways not to get jet lag?

I had this problem flying from the UK to New Zealand...24hour flight! Change you clock straight away so you are on the time of the place where you land. Drink heaps of water (and avoid alcohol) on the flight.
At your destination try to stay awake until its bed time (force yourself) you can run on fumes for a while..maybe go to be slightly earlier and get a good nights sleep.

never get a jet

Turn your watch to the new time and force yourself to stay awake etc. Mind over matter is the best way!

sleep on the plane and dont wear a watch until u land.

Take a sleeping pill.

Force your self to drink plenty of water.
As soon as you step on the plane pretend you are in your new time zone, so say if it was 09.00 here, but 03.00 where you're going to, go to sleep! If you can't sleep close your eyes and rest. Flying is stressful for your body so you might surprise your self and zzzz.
Avoid alcohol on flight as flying it's self is dehydrating - team that with alcohol and you'll have one mother of a hangover.
Take a time-release high strength B vitamin supplement during waking (daytime) hours. It will help your metabolism adjust in half the time.
Drink a sleep-promoting herbal tea or take Valerian extract on your first night at your destination to help ensure a sound night.

Have fun!

My friend swears by getting an afternoon/evening flight arriving at your destination at night. Sleep as usual and by morning you should be ok. She travels frequently and doesn't get jet lag. Some say she's missing out on the first day of her holiday, but she says that if you're jet lagged how much do you enjoy that day anyway? Make up your mind!
