How to overcome Jet Lag?

How to overcome Jet Lag?

Spend time in the afternoon sun. It will reset your biological clock. Also, before travelling, try to somewhat adjust your sleeping pattern. Healthy air travelling tips, such as staying hydrated, not stressing out too much, and healthy eating, all can contribute to feeling less tired, and thus less likely to suffer from jetlag.

I sleep it off.

tell me too

PSP

Don t go away, simple !!!!!!!!

leave a day ealier than planned and sleep. If you can;t do that, try eating something heathy and energizing. Drink some gatorade and take an aspirin. (I like those BC poweders, they have aspirin and caffine and can make you feel so much better). good luck with that.

to be honest
do this ans see that I'm right.
when you get to the place where your going to be,then walk for a little bit,yes that's right you need to walk and get your legs feeling better and you body to,this might sound funny but swing your arms while you walk and do a power walk and let the muscles talk to you, then go back to place of chose and then talk a really hot shower,(not bath) and relax standing in the hot water and let it run over you and your legs, this will help you with everything you need to relax.
i wish you good health and a good nights rest

My own best remedy is to stay awake through the first "night" according to your bodyclock and go to bed the following real evening at your destination.

Prevent it by travelling on ships

I one word: Hydrate!

Drink plenty of (non-caffinated) clear liquid...preferrably water. If you can't handle straight water, a light sports drink may help but since travel involves sedintary behaviors, sports drinks will infuse your body with electrolytes and simple sugars it can't burn so you run the risk of feeling overfed--and gaining weight.

Drink water...rest as much as you can.

Eat a healthy meal of about 3-4 ounces of protein, green leafy vegetables (other than lettuce), no white veges, and good fat (olive oil is best). Drink about 8-16 ounces of water with the meal. Stay away from caffeine, sugar, sweets, and sodas. Do a snack about 4 hours later with 1-2 ounces of protein, and a fruit or vege. It will help balance your blood sugar, and restore your energy.

I do this everytime....
Whenever you arrive, follow the schedule of that area. If you arrive in the morning, make it your morning. NO MATTER WHAT your body wants it to be.
Let's say you've been awake for the last 15 hours on a flight and you feel like it's your normal bedtime. You arrive at your destination and it's morning and everyone is starting thier day. Do whatever it takes to stay awake that whole day (I know it's hard). Go to sleep when it's time to go to sleep at your destination, not you body's clock.
If you start sleeping when you feel like it and waking up when you want to, you will stay on the schedule of the city you left. That would be jet lag. Sleeping at day and up all night.
Fight the urge to stay on your body's sleep schedule. Get on your destinations schedule as fast as you can. Do what ever you can to stay awake the whole day.
Good luck.

I think it is all in the mind it never happend to me!
The only thing I could say is don't fly but that would be unkind.
Maybe it is my lifestyle some weeeks I sleep during Day the others during the night but most times when ever I feel like it ,maybe you should stop having those normal regular houres, I never had one of those since 1965
Take care!

be sure to cacth the early mornign sun on your skin
dont cover up yourself

just go outside
look around
and feel the sun on you for 15 minutes
have a nice breakfast
and keep going the day,,
have coffee if you are really sleepy,,
not 5 hr before the schedules sleeping time
dont drink
and go to sleep early
and the next day also get the early morn sun
u will be fine on the next day onwards
i promise

Have a good, undisturbed sleep.

A few extra hours sleep for a couple of days is sure to work

Drink plenty of plain water - the artificial environment of a pressurised cabin dehydrates you, as well as the stress of travelling so far. Arrive well hydrated (alcohol dehydrates you so don't have any during the flight, or even for perhaps 24 hours before you leave) and perhaps get some sleep on your flight if you can. If it's a long flight - which I've never experienced yet but probably will as dad is moving to New Zealand in a couple of weeks : ( - then plenty of reading, or listening to music or audio books on your headphones.

Have a good trip.

sleep

melatonin is good, it resets your body clock. Always check the time the plane lands at your destination. For example when flying to Australia I know I will not have had much sleep so its good to land late at night so i can just sleep. If I landed in the morning it would mess me up for days.
