How to overcome Jet Lag? |
How to overcome Jet Lag? Spend time in the afternoon sun. It will reset your biological clock. Also, before travelling, try to somewhat adjust your sleeping pattern. Healthy air travelling tips, such as staying hydrated, not stressing out too much, and healthy eating, all can contribute to feeling less tired, and thus less likely to suffer from jetlag. I sleep it off. tell me too PSP Don t go away, simple !!!!!!!! leave a day ealier than planned and sleep. If you can;t do that, try eating something heathy and energizing. Drink some gatorade and take an aspirin. (I like those BC poweders, they have aspirin and caffine and can make you feel so much better). good luck with that. to be honest Source(s):RN and fitness My own best remedy is to stay awake through the first "night" according to your bodyclock and go to bed the following real evening at your destination. Prevent it by travelling on ships I one word: Hydrate! Eat a healthy meal of about 3-4 ounces of protein, green leafy vegetables (other than lettuce), no white veges, and good fat (olive oil is best). Drink about 8-16 ounces of water with the meal. Stay away from caffeine, sugar, sweets, and sodas. Do a snack about 4 hours later with 1-2 ounces of protein, and a fruit or vege. It will help balance your blood sugar, and restore your energy. I do this everytime.... I think it is all in the mind it never happend to me! be sure to cacth the early mornign sun on your skin Have a good, undisturbed sleep. A few extra hours sleep for a couple of days is sure to work Drink plenty of plain water - the artificial environment of a pressurised cabin dehydrates you, as well as the stress of travelling so far. Arrive well hydrated (alcohol dehydrates you so don't have any during the flight, or even for perhaps 24 hours before you leave) and perhaps get some sleep on your flight if you can. If it's a long flight - which I've never experienced yet but probably will as dad is moving to New Zealand in a couple of weeks : ( - then plenty of reading, or listening to music or audio books on your headphones. sleep melatonin is good, it resets your body clock. Always check the time the plane lands at your destination. For example when flying to Australia I know I will not have had much sleep so its good to land late at night so i can just sleep. If I landed in the morning it would mess me up for days. |
