*Home>>>Jet Lag

Ok so theres a bug going around school and theve sent alot of ppl home and i have it. Can you help me identify

it?

Ok so there stuffy runny noses, sore/scratchy throtes, fever(how they send kids home early plus i had it for a good 3 hours),sore muscles and tiredness just like jet lag.

And what should i do to help me feel better. Im spoedly going to the doc next week.*runs and hides*

And alot of snezzing and coughing.

Sounds like it might just be the flu. Each strain of the flu is different so every time a kid gets it it wont be the same. Plus, if it was anything more serious, like strep throat or mono the school would probably send a note home, or gossip would spread the word about it.

Just drink lots of fluids, get bed rest, and do what the doctor says.

What you're talking about sounds like influenza (the flu).
Common symptoms for the flu include:
- high fever (sudden onset, usually lasts 3-4 days)
- headache
- general body aches and pains
- fatigue and weakness that may last 2-3 weeks or more
- runny, stuffy nose
- sneezing (sometimes)
- sore throat
- chest discomfort

If it's the flu, don't take any antibiotics. Antibiotics are not effective against viruses (which the flu is). If you take antibiotics, you risk buildling resistance to the antibiotic, and developing an antibiotic resistant organism such as MRSA, VRE, ESBL, etc. You need to get plenty of rest and stay home.
