Melatonin?

Have any serious , side efffects been, reported from , taking Melatonin?.

It is openly avilable for sale in the USA, and was likewise in the UK for litttle while in the eraly 1990s.

I remember all sorts, of claims made in the press for it at the time, and it was mysteriously withdrown from sale, ( " maybe the NHS, did not wont to meny of us living until 120?)

I bought, a supply of it, on a long hull flight, where it is sold as a jet lag cure.

One problem I do notice after taking it, is sinus problems, though, I am prone to that anywhay, might it just be coincidental?.

Melatonin is a natural hormone produced by the pineal gland located in the center of the brain. Its secretion is inhibited by light and stimulated by darkness. Therefore, melatonin production peaks at night. Research shows that the body鈥檚 natural production of melatonin decreases with age. Melatonin has received substantial publicity for its ability to promote natural sleep patterns, stimulate the immune system, decrease jet lag and its role as a powerful antioxidant.

The biggest problem with metatonin sold in most stores, including health food stores is that it comes in tablet form and is derived from synthetic sources. These synthetic sources cause damage to the DNA of your cells and should not be used. The tablets contain magnesium stearate that the pill manufacturers all use to cause the pills to release from their machines faster. Magnesium Stearate inhibits the absorption of nutrients by up to 80%! It is also an immune suppressant. Not good.

There is one place I've found that has a very high quality melatonin that is actually good for you because it has been predigested, does not contain all the toxic tagalongs like magnesium stearate, and made from once living sources. Go to the web site: www.healthline.cc (not .com) to get more info and order product. It really works.

good luck to you

Headache or altered sleep pattern may occur. If either of these effects persists or worsens, contact your doctor promptly. Unlikely but report promptly: mental or mood changes, itching, fast heartbeat, sensation of heaviness in the head. If you notice other effects not listed above, contact your doctor or pharmacist.

Melatonin induces sleep, there are no side effects but your body can adapt to it so that it no longer has any effect when taking them. They shouldn't be taken often as they can throw your sleep off track in some cases. theres nothing harmful about it just dont take many otherwise adaptation may urge you to take more and bang your going down the road to being addicted.
