Dizzy and nausea? |
My husband flew from Kentucky to Arizonia on Monday and on Tuesday he started feeling nausea and dizzy. I am so concerned, he has been having some blood preasure issues, but I have read that high blood preasure don't really have symptoms. I guess I am wondering could it be jet-lag? If so how long does this last? Both those answers are good, but personally I don't think it's worth the risk of not going to the doctor immediately!! Better safe than sorry, waiting to see if it was a stroke isn't smart in any way! where do you get your medical advice- wal mart? You may not have symptoms with high blood pressure but those are definetily symptoms that could indicate high blood pressure or maybe just a virus. buy yourself a electronic cuff and test it yourself Report It If he has blood pressure problems and these symptoms don't start clearing up, he should go to a doctor. Extremely high blood pressure can cause a stroke - even a minor stroke can be very dangerous. An inner ear infection can cause the symptoms you describe. If fluid is present in the inner ear and he flies, the pressure in the airplane can aggravate the condition causing nausea and vertigo. He should take an OTC decongestant antihistamine for a few days and if he still is symptomatic, make an appointment with the doctor. It sounds like he has and inner ear problem. This probably could have been caused by the pressure in the planes cabin while in flight. If it doesn't go away in a few days he should probably see a doctor to be sure its not an infection or pressure on his ear drum. Taking meclizine tablets should help alleviate the dizziness and nausea. Ask the pharmacist but you used to be able to get them without a prescription, but they were kept behind the counter in the pharmacy. Your husband may have lack of oxygen in his body, that would cause dizzy spells. Or something to do with his ears, inner ear? Could be an infection in his ear or inner ear. High blood pressure does indeed have some symptoms one of which is "dizziness". Another symptom of high BP is headache. maybe he's pregnant? |
