Jaundice what is it?

I would like to know what is and how is it treated?

-Jaundice
-hemolytic anemia
-do adults have jaundice
-anemia in general
-low iron

-how to prevent low iron?

Just curiouse

When red blood cells break down, they produce a chemical called bilirubin. Bilirubin is supposed to be filtered out of the body by the liver -- but, if red blood cells are breaking down too fast, or the liver is malfunctioning, then you can get jaundice -- which is a yellow tinge to the skin and whites of the eyes.

Adults can definitely be juandice -- especially if they have liver issues.

Anemia literally means, "no blood." Usually, it's meant more specifically to mean that there is a deficiency of red blood cells . . . hemoglobin is the protein in red blood that carries the oxygen . . . it does this by binding to iron. An iron deficiency can mean that the red blood isn't able to carry oxygen as well as it should.

Eating red meats, leafy green vegetables, or taking a multi-vitamin/mineral are all ways to preven iron deficiency.

jaundice is usually found in newborns and has to be taken care of while in the hospital usually to prevent sickness
it is a yellowish discoloration of the skin

low iron- eat lots of nuts, fish, etc that have iron in them or take iron supplements....anemia is like low-iron and isnt fun- it makes you lightheaded, dizzy, or shaky
