Is yellow near the edge of the eye normal? Not the entire eye like jaundice but just the edges.?

I know that jaundice is the yellowing of the eyes and skin (among other things) because of liver failure. I tend to be a bit of a hypochondriac and I was looking in the mirror and noticed that while my eyes are white the edges (if you pull back the eyelids and look up or down) are a bit yellow (or at least seemed that way when I was looking). Does anyone know if that is normal? I imagine it is but I want to be sure.

There are muscles attached around the eyeball (6) and when you pull your lids back, you can see a discolouration which is where the muscle sheaths insert into the eye (you don't actually see red muscle). I think this is what you are seeing - nothing to worry about.

In the outer corner there is also the lacrimal gland.
