My 4 year old cat, Ruben has been diag. with Liver Disease &Jaundice on 04/10/07. He was at the Vet for 4 days

. He was on a Ivy w/Medications. The doctors said that he was not eating any food &he needed to be put to sleep. When he got home on Fri., He was so Happy,Active& Hungry. I started feeding him different kinds of food. Over the weekend he ate great, but he didn't drink as much. Now it's Mon. and the jaundice is starting to come back. I'm not sure what to do. I thought maybe I should take him to a different Vet or a University. Does anyone have a Referral or any Suggestions? I live in MO., Between St. Louis & Columbia, MO. Please Help!

Thats right---Inquiring minds
want to know.

Many times human supplements can be very effective with animals. I have a testimony from a lady regarding this exact problem with her cat - jaundice from liver problems and not eating. She gave her 1 all natural Liver DTX Complex 3 times a day for a month. She crushed the tablet in a baggie with a wooden spoon and sprinkled the powdered DTX on the canned food. As the cat improved, she gradually lowered the DTX to one occasionally. If any of the signs return, she puts her back on DTX daily for a few weeks.

Hope this is helpful and feel free to contact me with questions.

get a second opionion. Is it hepatic lipidosis that he has? If so, this is a difficult condiotn to treat and not all survive, but it can be done. It usually takes a long time and is expensive. I would seek another vet, especially since your current one is wanting you to euthanize. Both missouri and minnesota have vet schools.

Or you could look for other vets in your area.

let it go and get another one. maybe you can take and bury the cat at a pet semetary if you miss it. it'll come back.

Get another opinion. You love this little guy, so he's worth doing whatever it takes to make him as whole and happy as possible.

It may come down to Ruben being put to sleep, but if there's any hope, it's worth fighting for in the meantime.

Hun, I'm in Australia, and can't recommend anyone in your area, but just check the yellow pages, university or where ever - and start making those calls.

Saying prayers for you both !!
