Can jaundice be temporary?

My husband rarely drinks (maybe 2 beers at Christmas and 2 beers on 4th of July). We went away for the weekend with some friends and he drank a lot. He was sick the next day and now his eyes are yellow and have been for 3 days. I know that alcoholism can cause liver damage, but can 1 night of drinking in a very healthy man who almost never drinks cause damage? Will this go away or should he see a doctor?

He should see a doctor. Only a doctor could safely diagnose what is wrong with him.

Jaundice is caused by an accumulation of bilirubin in the system. This is a symptom of a sick liver. There are other causes than alchohol abuse. Get thee to a doctor.

he has yellow fever

Maybe this could go away but why take chances with your husband's life. See a doctor immediately.
