Does jaundice is caused only to alcoholic or drug addict?

Does jaundice is caused only to alcoholic or drug addict?

Anyone can get jaundice even new born babies.

IT IS EITHER ALCOHOL NOR DRUG ADIT. THIS THE ANSWER I THINK SO.

No it can occur to anybody. Alcohol / drugs spoil the liver therefore these people get jaundice quickly than normal people.

Nope.
Jaundice is an indication of liver function problems, and anyone with liver problems ... newborn children, hepatitis and other diseases, vitamin deficiencies, etc... can be jaundiced.

No. I received jaundice from drinking from an unsafe water supply.

Nope, anyone can get it, you could get it from an ice cube, hepatitis's A,B, or C causes jaundice & so does kidney failure & all kinds of other diseases.

Almost any kind of Liver disease can cause Jaundice. Jaundice is the buildup in the blood of bile salts and other waste products not being removed by the liver. Hepatitis A, B, C,etc all cause it as well as some poisons and medical drugs that damage the liver.

Other illnesses can cause jaundice, including various forms of hepatitis. Alcholism and drug use are not the only causes.

No.

Jaundice is a visual sign that is inherent to various hepatitis. A person has yellow tint, to the skin and white portion of the eyes turns yellow also.

It is mainly because during hepatitis liver malfunctions and red blood cell are not produced sufficiently.

Alcoholics and drug users do get hepatitis, but there are many other reasons for and many kind of hepatitis.

You can have jaundice without hepatitis. This type is common in new born child. The liver is not developed enough to produce needed red blood cells, the child is watched and in most cases liver catches up with the demand in few days and jaundice is done way.

There are several causes of jaundice. Mainly the liver organ is dysfunctional or infected or inflamed. When this happens, jaundice generally occurs. Taking in alcohol is one predisposing factor for jaundice. it is because alcohol passes through he liver (as all ingested substance do ) and in the process destroys the hepatocytes or liver cells....especially if taken in repeatedly... Try immersing some plants in alcohol.... if it is for a very short time, nothing happens to the plant but if you let it stay there for a long period of time then eventually it will wither....You can compare the plants with the liver cells... it is the same principle with drugs taken in.

No. Jaundice is caused to a large number of people who never take alcohol or drugs. Jaundice doesn't happen overnight. When the liver is weakened due to intake of oily or spicy food in large quantities or alcohol abuse or intake of insufficient quantity of drinking water etc. over a considerable period of time, Jaundice might strike when one takes contaminated water or food. When the bile duct or pancreas are blocked by stone(s) or tumour resulting in a blockage to the flow of bile, it results in Obstructive Jaundice. There are other varieties of Jaundice as well. But one thing for sure, it doesn't attack alcoholics or drug users only.
