Itching and medication?

for 5 days now i have had itching hat started out moderatly and then progressed and is now severe -it is worse at night and pretty much itches all over with the exception of my face and feet-it will itch on my back legs arms stomach and bottom also my neck-but not all the same tome it moves from area to area.
sometimes i get relief but only about 30 minutes or so-i see no bumps or anything but of course i get redness and straches becasue i cannot leave it alone-i have tried to think of anything i used different that i could have a allergic reaaction from and the only thing i have done differently is i stopped taking the medication amiltriptiline-i stopped it on a tues and the itching startred a bit on friday but became sever over the weekend-i know taking certain medication can cause itching, but does anyone know if stopping one could? I dont really think so but i dont know and thought maybe someone would know about this-cant really afford to see a dr.thanks

try benadryl its over the counter & works very well for itching
