Night Itching after Mexico trip Lower arms and wrist, Lower legs and ankles?

Fed up with taking Benadryl every night! I live in South Florida and have problems with itching before I go to bed on my fore arms and my shins (it also turns into little red bumps after prolonged itching). It started while on a trip to Mexico 4 years ago. One night in Mexico I itched so bad I could not sleep, took a blazing hot shower, used after sun lotion, jumped in the pool and at 9:00 am the next morning I decided just to keep drinking until I passed out. At the time I lived in Michigan and when I returned I remember having occasional itching episodes, always at night. Now that I live here FL I have the problem almost every night. I take Benadryl about an hour before you go to bed does the trick but if anyone finds a cure I am dieing to here it.

Do you have crabs? It happens, you know.

I'm guessing body lice, but benedryl wouldnt cure it...hmm, if it happened more often after you moved i'm almost certain its from the humidity.

See a doctor

have you seen a doctor? it's hard to diagnose the problem if you can't see the rash... um from what you described it could have been an allergic reaction to something (since the benedryl helps) perhaps a food allergy? dunno... suggest the idea to a doctor and maybe you can get an allergy test done... not sure what else it could be but there are lots of other things it could be out there...so um my advice: see a doctor A.S.A.P. !!! good luck! hope it gets better :(
