It could be several things. An allergic reaction, fleas, a skin disorder...but what I would think of first is maybe simple over drying of the skin. It can be caused by taking too hot of showers for long periods of time, or just from lack of humidity in the home, which happens a lot in the winter time, when all the moisture in the air freezes. You could try buying a water softener to make the water less irritating to your skin. Try some good lotion like lubriderm to moisturize your skin. Do you have gas heating in your new apartment by any chance? We have gas heating here and it really sucks humidity out of the air. Maybe invest in a few small humidifiers. If you don't think this is the case, is it possible that you have changed laundry detergents or body soap lately? It could be an allergic reaction to the perfumes in either of these. It could also be fleas, if the tenants before you had an animal and the apartment was never fumigated. It also, but less likely could be from stress. If none of these seem to be the case, I would see a doctor, it could be a fungal infection or other skin problem that requires a prescription.

Take benadryl and find out what the source is.

You are probably allergic to some chemical there. Try having your carpet cleaned.

Go see a doctor instead of relying on strangers to solve your health problems...

You might have a skin disease, you should go to a doctor and get checked or a dermatologist. Try anti-itch creams such as Equate or Aveeno intense relief overnight cream (I use it). When you get itchy, your body is trying to release chemicals or toxins. It is okay to scratch a little to help these toxins get released, but do not do it too much to the point that you are scratching off your skin. When those toxins are released you will stop itching.
If you think you do not have a skin disease, you may just be having severe allergic reactions to something in your house. (Again, check with your doctor to make sure)

Also, take cold/cool and short showers. Hot/warm water will make you itch more and dry out your skin. If you want to take a bath you can try taking an oatmeal bath. Keep your fingernails short. If it "burns" or feels hot, put a bag of ice on.. that helps numb/relieve the itching for me. Try not to use any scented lotions, soaps, etc. I have and have had Eczema since I was in elementary school, I know how it feels and it sucks. Well, these are just a few things I do to help me not itch as much. I hope that helped. Good luck.
And please, go see your doctor about this.

I do not know from where you hail, but I'm from India. It's country with a hot climate. The problem like yours happen very occasionly to people here. The facility of a Dermatologist is not common everywhere. In cases like yours we use coconut oil. After a bath and during bed time take a little of it on your palm and rub it softly on the affected part. You will feel the difference instantly.
Wish you well.Rem It is suggested in the right earnest.

My anunt just told me that his son has that itching problem, after he uses this body wash, he is much better. I want to try that too when I have time to order.

She also said her friend recommend to get this water filter too for a better result.

I don't believe that, but I will get that if wash doesn't work that well.

I tried to less the hot water run, and that help as well because hot water can remove a lot of body oil.

Since this only started after you moved into a new apartment, it鈥檚 probably a parasitic problem like dust mites or similar mites.

Look very carefully around the areas on your body where you itch and see if you can notice anything small moving around (most mites would be very small and black eg. Bird mites, rat mites). If you can notice something, collect it in a small transparent bottle and take it to your doctor and ask him/her to send it off to an entomology department. When the results come back, the doctor will advice you how to get rid of them.

If you can鈥檛 see anything crawling around your body, it鈥檚 most likely dust mites. To get rid of dust mites, vacuum your room and your bed (especially your bed) thoroughly, go to Kmart or Wal-Mart or stores that sell linen and pillow and buy anti鈥揹ust mite pillow and anti-dust mite bed covers (both are pretty cheap) and hopefully you鈥檒l be able to get a good night sleep.

If the above doesn鈥檛 work, you might need to spray the room or even the entire apartment with insecticide spray (always use cation with insecticides and always vent room for several hours until the smell of the insecticide has completely gone). Vacuum your bed again and cover your bed with the anti-dust mite sheets and your itching should stop in a day. (If you go to purchase insectide spray at a supermarket, most insectides won't say for dust mistes or other mites but they will definately kill dust mites, bird mites and a majority of other parasitic mites.)

From what you have written, it seems unlikely but if you hands are itching more than anywhere else in your body, you could have scabies; a cream from your chemist can fix this up easily.

If all the above that doesn鈥檛 work, you might be developing eczema (very unlikely as lotion normally stops a person with ezcema itching temporarily) .

In my opinion I think it's a parasitic mite but please consult a doctor or a specialist as they would know a lot more, they can check your medical history and can physically see your symptoms.

Major clean that apartment with cleaners you used before you moved. You know those didn't bother you before.

Have you changed laundry detergent or any additive like fabric softener? That would cause problems you have listed. If nothing else change to a 'free' type liquid detergent.....no perfumes, no dyes.

Wash all the linen on your bed........you spend about a third of a 24 hour day in bed....good place to start looking for the problem.

the lotions and pills are temporary. You need to find the problem. Try to think of anything you have changed since moving into the apartment.

Good luck!
