Itching and Brown Discharge? |
My history is that I have recurring BV. I was recently treated for it about 3 weeks ago and what was different is that my doctor did not prescribe diflucan, which is usually given after someone has taken Flagyl to help prevent a yeast infection. I didn't get the diflucan and of course I feel I developed a yeast infection, so I bought Monistat 3-day treatment. It's been 7days now and actually it seems to have gotten worse as if I've developed a full-blown yeast infection. I have weird itching sometimes around the vagina, but it affects me more near the anus where there's itching and sometimes pain. I've tried the monistat cream which I've found I must be allergic to because it causes more itching. During this whole issue I've had a brown discharge and a very mild odor. I've been to the doctor more often than I'd like to. I would like to know if it truly is a yeast infection and how I can treat it at home? If there is a better yeast infection medication out there as well. I also thought it might be UTI. If that's possible, what is the best over-the-counter treatment other than cranberry juice? If you've tried an over-the-counter cream you'll have to bite the bullet and go back to the doctor. If you let a yeast infection go it could eventually turn into vaginitis which is like a yeast infection but 100 times as bad. Generally a light brownish/green discharge accompanies it along with severe itching and abdominal pain. At this point the doctor will probably prescribe you some anti-biotics to take care of this. Have you been checked for a STD? If so then it may be a bacterial infection! Well, I have been having recurring BV also - go to ur GYN. You don't sound like a yeast infection - they usually are white discharge that smells a little like bread. Good luck. Try a Hemorrhoid cream. Since you say you feel the itching more around your anus than your vagina, you may have a hemorrhoid. They itch a lot. As for the discharge? I am stumped there. a brown discharge usually means blood. It sounds to me like a bacterial infection or another such infection. I would go to a doc soon though. If I were you check your doctor as far your concern about infection issue. They will help you what you should do for your infection. There is numbers thing the infections. Your doctor will take care your infections. |
