Severe itching? |
i have terrible itching right around my tailbone, i have tried hydrocortizone and several differnt oilments, but it will not go completely away, problem being it itches so severly i cant stand it and i make it worse, i have no medical and cant afford to see a dr for it, please any suggestions on how to stop the itching if i could get relief from the itching long enough i think it would clear up completely because it starts to look better but then i make it worse all over again-this has been going on for mths.thank you i appreciate any suggestions If you have intractable itching and steroid creams don't help I suggest you try capsaicin cream. This is available OTC at the drug store and is used for arthritis pain. Buy a strong strength tube for about 10 bucks then put a small dab on the itch and rub in. First few times it will burn like crazy for about 15 minutes and when it quits you will notice the itching has decreased or is gone. Keep applying 2-3 times daily and soon there will be no itch. After a while you can cut down to once a day or only when the itching starts back. This works for me. There is a great website called WebMD and I strongly urge you to do some research on this and see what it says. Also go to your local pharmacy and see what the pharmacist advises. Make sure you speak with the pharmacist and not a technician. They can really give you some good advice free of charge other than what the product the recommend costs. I feel so sorry for you. To be honest, if you want to be sure, see a doctor, even if it's at a county clinic or hospital( they are usually free or low-cost). Check for one in your state here. http://ask.hrsa.gov/pc/ Other than that , I would suggest trying Aveeno Hydro-cortisone. http://www.drugstore.com/qxp74422_332828... It's an anti-itch cream. Best Wishes. Please DO NOT APPLY any ointment or other forms of medicine. AVOID scratching the skin, for it will cause serious infection. What I could recommend is to wash the irritated skin with water and soap in the morning and in the evening. Drink water everyday and try to have short healthy exercises. Do not eat sweet foods and other foods that have high-cholesterol level. Find yourself something that leisures you or anything that will entertain you so that you will not keep thinking of the itch. Apply apple cider vinegar to the itching skin with a dry cloth. After some time, the itching will stop. Alternately apple cider vinegar can be added to the bath water.More cheap and natural remedies for itching at the link below. |
