Can you lose hair from an itching scalp?

hi, for the past 2 or so years the top ends of my forehead (at my ends of my hairline), the skin has been itching. i don't have lice or anything because only those two areas itch. the itching isn't that horrible, and it only happens occasionally, but it's been there for a long time, and my skin around it gets a little red i think when it does.

then at the same time, i noticed my hairline has receded a little. not a whole lot, but still, it's concidentally in the same exact places that my head itches where i'm losing/receding hair. would this just be my hair line naturally receding/losing hair (i'm 18) or could this be related to the itching? and if so, would there be anyway to get rid of the itching and possibly have the hair grow back (i'm assuming yes to itching, no to growing back). it hasn't gotten that bad, i just want to make sure i solve it before it gets a lot worse. thanks

I am not sure why there is itching, but it may be because of dandruff...do you clean that area with shampoo properly? if you use dandruff shampoo and conditioner than hopefully your hair can grow back. but, i am not really sure. ask a doctor
