Itching means What?

I have this wound on my left upper part of hand,that I received last Monday,It has a scab on it,but it itches,got the wound from a rose bush branch.Does itching mean that it's healing or a alletic to the rose bush branchIt's not red just itches.

It means it is healing. Try not to scratch it. You can hold a warm washcloth over it to ease the itch, or a cold washcloth over it to stop it completely

why it is itching: when you are injured, you have histamines and leukotrienes that rush to the surface of your skin to repair it, histamine causes itching, and as long as your skin has a problem, even a scab (which is normal and healthy) the histamine will stay underneath the scab in the skin just incase any other infection or irritants try to enter the wound, so that it can attack it (actually macrophages do this, but this is just the general idea) the histamine makes your skin tingle because it is helping it heal because it has proteins in it from your blood...so it is good to be itching if you have a wound!

scrathing or rubbing

I usually find that itching means the wound is healing. And since it is not red, then there is no infection. So i think you are fine. Just let your body heal.

Itching means a kind of irritation on your body/wound you feel like rubbing/scratching it.
