Severe itching..?

so i started getting severe itching on my legs. went to the doctors and i got pills and creme and all that stuff for my "allergic reaction" (i have no idea from what). three weeks later, i'm still itching like crazy! my legs (where it started) don't bring out in hives that much anymore. they still look terrible though. my knees look like they belong to a 90 year old! :( ! my inner thighs somehow have bruises and my legs are prickly as heck probably due to my intense scratching. anyways, the itching has moved on to my hips/abs and now my arms break out in hives. it has gotten to the point where i can hardly concentrate in class. i can't help but scratch! i'm ready to bring out my shorts and tanks in time for summer but i can't with skin like this! ANY help is appreciate. THANKS IN ADVANCE =]

oh yeah, sometimes i'll wake up with the part under my eyebrow's red. it's not THAT bad but still itches. the rims of my ears (have no idea what that's called) itch too. =/

I'd suggest going back to that doctor and demanding an allergy-test. That can't be good, after all.

Have you recently changed your diet? Are you buying your food at another shop? Did you buy new clothes? Do you have a pet? Perhaps you've suddenly become allergic to the pet, which, sadly, is not impossible.

What about your house? What's your level of sanitation? Did you recently change your soap? Did you change the detergent of your clothes? What of the stuff you use to keep your house clean?

Or perhaps you've recently become stressful and it is acting out in this manner?

Cold compresses might ease some of the discomfort, as well as wearing wide clothing and avoid becoming hot and sweaty. For the itch, perhaps some milk might work.

But _do_ pester your doctor again and get an allergy-test.

sound like psoriasis, is it flaky?

instead of sitting at the computer, visit your doctor. this is not normal.

get off of yore pc, why give it to all of us.''

do you have red eyelids, dry patches on your knees and elbows and black circles under your eyes? If so, it is a food allergy.

Stop taking chicken meat & eggs. Bath with normal soap bar instead of bath lotion, foams etc.. In the meantime, keep applying the creme. Try to take some "limau kasturi". Hopefully, it helps.

Hives are definitely a sign of allergic reaction, but until you go thru the allergen testing, theres no way of knowing. Try an OTC benadryl...its used specifically for itching....and it wont harm you. If it alleviates the itching, then you can pretty much conclude that you have an allergy. However, it doesnt sound so much as an allergy to something youre eating. Think about if youve recently changed your laundry detergent or soap for washing, maybe even body lotion or oil. Stop using them and see if you find relief. In the meantime, stop scratching so fiercely...your skin is traumatized to the point of nearly bleeding. Apply some cortisone cream to the affected areas and try the benadryl. You really need to see an allergist tho...get a referral from your primary MD.
