Help! Itching all over body, no known cause...? |
I need someone with some medical experience to help me here. Or anyone with knowledge to this. Wednesday afternoon my chest starting itching then my arms then my back neck legs everything. There is no visual rash on my body except when I scratch too much in certain places and it gets red and looks like a rash. I am not allergic to any foods (that I know of) and I do suffer from regular seasonal allergies here it is Saturday and I can not stop itching. I've been taking benadryl since Wed night with no help I went to the doc yesterday and he prescribed me methlyprednisolone which is for allergies and I started taking it today. I tried backtracking everything I've eaten and did and Sunday night I went to Universal and stayed in a hotel(maybe bed bugs?) I ate shrimp(notallergic) and I've been eating regular food like always. I have seen 2 big red fire ants in my home but I don't really have bumps on me just a few tiny ones on my body. Someone please help me! I can't stop itching! I have not changed my detergent or have done anything out of the ordinary I am already applying itching cream. I was just wondering if someone here would spark something in my mind that would make me realize where this is coming from. It's so weird. I also deal with anxiety and thought maybe it's the anxiety making me itch. Also when I take a warm bath or shower it gets so irritated that I start seeing red spots all over. Has the weather changed dramaticlly to very cold? Maybe you have very dry skin, that will make it itch. Try putting on some soothing lotion with aloe and see if it helps. go on itchingskin.com....they have so many new creams to help you with your itchy skin. If the doctor can't help, I can't either. But I do hope you get better. I find that soap is a good way to keep the body itch-free. I know it can be a hassle, but sometimes it's JUST really worth it. did you change your laundry detergent? my daughter has an itching problem if any kinds of soaps, detergents, body washes, bubbles, or shampoos change. We keep the same brands, although unfortunately the expensive ones that I started her out on. have you changed your washing powder.soap or shower gel etc.if you have that could be causing the rash and itching. I had a similar experience a few years ago. Never had any allergies (except seasonal) but woke up one morning with the hives. Went to the doctor to get a shot of Benedryl and Adrenaline and was informed of "Adult Onset of Allergies". I was told it can happen any time during your life for no "apparent" reason. It just happened again about a year ago and the protocol had changed to benedryl and steroids. It does take a few days for the steroids to work but it should ease up some by Sunday. Hope this helps. i think it could be the soap you are using. i cannot use any soap with scents or special ingrediants in it because i get itchy like crazy! but it is not visible when i get itchy with the soap. and also renember, it is something you scrub all over your body, right? Sounds like you have what I have a chlorine allergy.. Do you get real itchy after having a bath or shower? If so it's the chlorine in the water causing. You might have had a hardly noticable itch and the old stuff you used may have just brought that problem closer to the surface. Simple solution treat your skin with I also have trouble with itchy skin. I checked out some home remedies especially after buying every cream and lotion without success. Some recommend oatmeal baths didn't try that. I tried the milk bath. 1 cup dry milk powder to your bath water. Stay in bath at least 15 mins not too hot water. Do this daily. You should notice improvement pretty soon. I did it every day when skin was itchy now skin is cleared and do it once a month for maintenance. Of course don't do if allergic to milk Good Luck. |
