Could Irritable Bowel Syndrome cause some impotence?

I have IBS and this causes a lot of stress in that area, for instance the testicles tighten and once, just before that happened, some of the blood vessels were hard to the touch. One reason I ask is I tried having sex when my belly was bothering me (think I ate something bad) and I couldn't keep it up. Now there werer a lot of other factors invloved but my testes were already being bothered by my bowels and I thought this might have played a part.

Of course it has an effect. Get over your IBS, do what it takes to restore your full health as a frist priority. Sex is just the icing on the cake of health. Sex when you are unhealthy is like putting frosting on cake batter.
