Irritable bowel syndrome and marijuana? |
i live in ontario canada. i have been suffering from IBS for more years than i care to remember. i have gone through numerous tests and tried far too many pills and herbal remedies to mention. two years ago, i started smoking marijuana on a daily basis. i noticed it really helped to relieve my abdominal pain and some of the gas as well as allowing me to eat when i felt i couldn't because of pain. i found it also helped me digest after particularly heavy meals.i didn't know if it was like this for everyone, so i googled it. turns out a lot of people with IBS smoke marijuana.i would like to see if i can get medical marijuana for my problem. how do i bring it up to my doctor?what is the process?anyone else in the same boat as i am with any advice? have you tried diet changes, also tried hydrocodone ! Yeah and it has been said that if break your leg and it hurts like hell. If you smoke enough dope you'll forget all about it also!! You should try diet changes...you can eat anything in moderation, just not soda pop and popcorn all day or salads all day. Also there are anti-spasmotics and anti-anxiety drugs that work well. Explain to your doctor what you just said here. Tell him that you have ben smoking it on a regular basis, and that it helps with alleviating your symptoms and that the other things thay you've tried just don't work the same way. I'm not sure if he or she will actually perscribe it, but you can give it a try. |
