Flaxseed oil and irregular heartbeat? |
I have suffered from an irregular heartbeat for many years. I started taking fish oil a while ago and noticed the episodes got worse and when hearing that they discovered this could happen and doctors recommended those with irregular beat issues to stop taking it i quit taking them. Now i've been introduced to a diet that you take flaxseed oil. I was wondering since this too is an Omega 3 oil does it have the same side effects or is it considered safer? Just to clarify it..i wasnt going to take flaxseed oil for my heart but for a weight loss program, but i was worried if it might have the same effects by setting my heart off into irregular beats like fish oil did. In regards to the warnings about fish oil if you have an irregular heartbeat i cant get the link to work...but if you go to www.usatoday.com and in the search section type in "fish oil and irregular heartbeats" the link will appear on the page that opens. It was an article from June 14, 2005 explaining in some heart patients the fish oil can trigger the irregular heartbeat. Wow, I never heard about that. Do you recall where you read it? Do you take magnesium and calcium? Taking these can help with irregular beats. 1000mg calcium/500mg magnesium usually easy to find in a supplement you take 3x daily. Alot of people say taking them separately helps too and taking the magnesium on an empty stomach. Try googling magnesium for heart and see what the research says! It's very interesting. Also make sure you're getting enough potassium and H2o!! =) I haven't heard that it works before. |
