How does irregular heartbeat affect blood pressure?

I have Supraventricular tachycardia and when my SVT acts up my heart rate jumps really high and will cause my blood pressure to drop. I'm told by my cardiologist that it's because my heart is racing so fast that it's not allowing itself to fill with blood the way it should to properly circulate blood through my body. Not sure if that helps you but the only way for me to answer this question was through my personal experience.

Yes but the other way is more likely. Usually high blood pressure leads to irregular heartbeat. (not that it always does...just that it can lead..in that order)

If you are talking palpitation, both occur almost simultaneous and high and low blood pressure follow each other in rapid order.. usually ending in a high that takes a while to dissipate. Both are symptoms in this case and saying they effect each other would be stretching the truth.

It depends on what the irregularity is, there is no definite answer.
