Is having a regular-irregular heartbeat dangerous? It skips every 5th beat.? Probably NOT Life threatening at this point... you should see your doctor about that one. quite so, check your doctor Its probably nothing to worry about if it has not affected you yet. My heartbeat is irregular too. It speeds up when I breath in and then it slows down dramatically when I breath out. Though it is not normal, I was told it wasn't uncommon and there is nothing to be concerned about. It depends from person to person. I think you should go to the doctor. I have a irregular heart beat! i do reckon irregular heartbeat is a concern but i doubt if it is a matter to worry about at your age. I have paroxysmal (once in a while) atrial fibrillation. I'm taking medication to control it; however, arrhythmia is very common and doesn't pose a danger to most people. Most people never notice it. My doctor told me that I may have an odd electrical connection in my heart and they could fix it with by zapping it with a laser, but the remedial effects are often not successful. If you're concerned, then I would see a doctor. Medical professionals can see the arrhythmia very easily with an ECG, and can readily give you a prognosis. good luck to ya. -r. When you say "skip" do you mean that there is a pause between beats, or that there is an abnormal beat. It could be a pause in your regular heart rhythym, or it could be a premature vetricular contraction (PVC). Either way, it needs to be diagnosed by a physician to rule out a serious disorder. |
