Anybody know about irregular heartbeats?

Hi, i went to the doctor today and she said that she thinks I have an irregular heartbeat.Why are they caused, treated, and tested. I'm very worried about this soo please answer... Also if I do get the testes done I will probablly stress while the test is being done and that will screw up the test. What should I do??

make sure they do a 24 hour heart monitor called a Holter monitor, depends on where the beats are coming from, they have meds for that & they'll probably say Less caffine, & smoking of any kind, pot causes irregular heartbeats, good luck

well...what kind of irregular heart beat do you have? im guessing its atrial fibrillation...look that up....but it can be controlled by medications...you definitely need to talk to a cardiologist though and get that fixed...
it could also be SVT...supraventriculartachycardia...whic... means your heart beats really fast...there are alot of heart rates that you can have...
bradycardia- basically a slow heart rate...
follow up with a cardiologist!

Hello is your heartbeat irregular all the time or like palpitations? Maybe a heart-murmur ? What kind of test are they going to have you do?? A EKG which they just take pictures of your heart and it doesn't hurt or anything.. A stress test trying the tread mill to stress out heart . My mom's boss died from the medicine to stress out the heart. good luck If it's palpitations they can be caused by to much caffeine.

I know it's easy to say "don't stress out over having the tests done" and it is difficult to remain calm....BUT, you need to have the tests done to find out what problems you have.

The only caution I would give you is when you go for the stress test which is walking at a fast pace on a treadmill to get your heart rate up....refuse to have them medicate you to put your heart into a stress mode. Take the test without any of that medicine, just do the best you can. I did mine without any medicine and I was able to do it just fine. Just a reminder, if you don't feel comfortable with your doctor--for any reason--it is always worthwhile to get a 2nd opinion.

i have one!!! its fine its not as serious as u think it isyoull be fine jsut relax i had a heart murmur when i was like 5 or something
