Irregular heartbeats anyone?

I can remember feeling fluttery in my chest on two occassions in my adolescence and my breath would kind of catch and my mom told me it was probably just from drinking too much caffeine. I'm now in my twenties and I get it more frequently sometimes out of no where, sometimes after I exercise and I really don't drink much soda and no coffee, I don't smoke, but my husband does. Went to the doctor and he heard it but when he made me wear a heart monitor thing for 24hrs it didn't do it. He said he could put me on meds but why not try a cardiologist, but I didn't have the $$. Should I be worried? How irregular should heart beat before you see a cardiologist because I know it happens to other people and they're fine. I can go a week without it happening, then it might do it two days out of the week, for about 15-20 seconds each time.

Irregular heart best also called Arrhythmia is serious. It needs to be treated. It can be caused by something as simple as an electrolyte imbalance to more serious issues such as bacterial or viral infections, congenital abnormality, hormone disorder, Congestive Heart Failure and many other problems. The problem needs to be pinpointed to ensure you are receiving the proper treatment.
Untreated an arrhythmia can lead to sudden death, or stroke caused by blood that pools in the heart during a period of flutter. You could throw a clot that lodges in the brain, lung heart or intestine or even other parts of the body causing that part to die from lack of oxygen.
If you don't have adequate health insurance you need to go to social services and see if you qualify for Medical assistance. (You can have a job and still qualify for Medical assistance.)
Bottom line this is not something to fool around with.

Wow I have the same thing SH*T! Report It

See a doctor, NOW! Don't play games with your life and don't trust it to places like Yahoo Answers!

You need to have a sonagram of your heart done. That way they can see what's going on with it. I wouldn't get on meds until this is done.

I had it before, it might due to the side effects of some medications you have.

I agree, go see a doctor. Yes, you can live with it,but you need the proper medications. Go now.
