Preventing Iron Deficiency?

I'm not a vegetarian, but I don't eat red meat or seafood as much as I should because I don't have that much time or skill to cook meats at home. I also have a hard time with taking iron supplement pills. What are some foods that I can prepare easily that can help supply iron to my body? I've had anemia before and took iron pills, but if I could avoid taking pills that would be great!

Green vegetables, like spinach and broccoli, are good sources for iron.

Maybe you are just SICK. When you are sick, one of the tricks of the body is to lower the iron level. This deprives the bacteria of a needed building block and they can't spread so fast. This is known as Evolutionary Biology.

Lots of foods, like spinach (great in salads), tofu, chickpeas, and soybeans.

Here are a couple of sites that give you an idea:

Good luck, and congrats on improving your health without needing meds :)

i think, if you want iron in your body, you need to stop gorging yourself on smoothies, dark chocolate, almonds and kimchi. You need to start eating red meat and being a real human being.

Also, I think two tablespoons full of DD syrup might help. Just a thought.
