Intestinal bleeding, please help? |
This morning my boyfriend, who is 21 years old, used the restroom and bled alot. (I'm not sure if he had diarreha or not) He then went to the hospital and the doctor told him it was just some blood vessels breaking in his intestine, and that's what caused it. He was given some pills to help clot the blood. His bleeding has slowed down now, but not completely. The key giveaway that this is not an ulcer or colon cancer is that the blood was quite visible. Visible blood means that there was a tear of tissue near the rectum. This can be from hemorrhoids, fissures, etc. In colon cancer, our ulcers the blood is much higher up and is subjected to digestive juices. This means that this blood is not visible and may present itself only as a tarry looking stool. Your friend will be just fine. |
