Anyone else experience....?

My father had Krohn's disease, which is an intestinal cancer, for almost ten years and i was wondering if their was anyone else who has experienced this also in their family. Another thing is i have been checked out and i'm clear but the doc said it is more common for the older sibling to aquire this than the younger sibings.. Also is their any possible cures yet that are out their?

My friend has it and he has had it for several years now. There are many drugs out there that help and he has found that with the right diet and exercise that he is able to be normal and feel normal. His doctor gave him a list of things that he can eat and things that he cannot eat and so far things have been looking good. Just follow what the doctor says and stick with any diet and exercise plan he gives because it will help control it. When you get off of that plan it will flare up again.

No i'm sorry I haven't

Sorry to hear about your dad. If there were a cure you'd be hearing about it I am sure.

Do you mean Crohn's disease ?
Crohn鈥檚 disease affects men and women equally and seems to run in some families. About 20 percent of people with Crohn鈥檚 disease have a blood relative with some form of inflammatory bowel disease, most often a brother or sister and sometimes a parent or child. Crohn鈥檚 disease can occur in people of all age groups, but it is more often diagnosed in people between the ages of 20 and 30. People of Jewish heritage have an increased risk of developing Crohn鈥檚 disease, and African Americans are at decreased risk for developing Crohn鈥檚 disease

Crohn's is not cancer. Crohn's is a chronic but treatable condition. The links below will give you the info you are seeking. Remicade is now being used for treating Crohn's with quite a bit of success.
