Any doctors? blood in stool? |
How common is colon cancer in teens or young adults? The other day, I went to the bathroom twice, first time it was hard and it all came out fast, then the 2nd time occured 20-30 minutes after I ate dinner, it was diarrhea and there was blood in it. It wasn't all blood but there was a good bit. I went to the hostpital and they did a blood test on me and said my blood count was normal and said my stomach was fine. Then this morning I went and there was no blood. Then I went to my family doctor for a follow-up and he said I shouldn't be worrying about cancer and that I may have mild, internal hemerrhoids. He did a rectal exam on me and said he didn't feel anything abnormal. Could that cause the bleeding? Also I my stomach hurts a bit all around, and I feel like I'm full of gas. Could it be from worrying so much? I also read about intestinal blockage, but then I wouldn't be able to go nor keep my food down right? I just really need to be reassured here, I'm scared to death... I'm young, 19 years old, this all started out of nowhere, right after I ate my dinner yesterday, I got stomach cramps, went to the bathroom and it was diarrhea with blood in it. Then later when I would try to go all that would come out was watery stool and some blood. This morning I went and there was no problem but it was a little thin, then I tried to go again a litle while ago and it was watery and there was blood on the toilet paper, not as much as before though. The blood is a maroon-bright red color. My stomach aches but doesn't hurt incredibly bad. Could it possibly be an ulceur, because I get severely stressed at times. Okay don't worry, i have had that happen a couple of times, With your symptoms it sounds like you need to get checked for crohns, it also depends on if it had a mucus tint in your stool, if it did it might mean that your intestinal walls are getting flared. I would get it checked out with a gastrointestinal doctor. Hope that helps. But i would not worry too much. A good possibility is a polyp. How old are you? I highly doubt you have colon cancer if you're young. When I was 17, I had the same problem and the doctor did a colonoscopy on me and found I had a polyp. I was going to the restroom - regularly or diareeha, and blood was always seen. In fact, it (the polyp) was so big, I had to see a specialist to remove it! And to even add to the story - they estimated that the polyp had been in me for about 10 (TEN!!) years! Granted I'm perfectly okay now, and the polyp was non-cancerous, that was the problem at the time and I was scared to! I went through the procedure and they cut the polyp out, and everything is perfectly okay now. Have you seen the doctor about this again? |
