Why is marijuana not legal? |
Alcohol effects: Damage to vital organs; including liver, heart and pancreas, Linked to several medical conditions; including gastro intestinal problems, malnutrition, high blood pressure, and lower resistance to disease. Also linked to several types of cancer; including esophagus, stomach, liver, pancreas and colon, Alcohol can be additive in nature when taken with antipsychotic medications, antihistamines, solvents or motion sickness preparations. Excessive drinking can lead to death. + no one has EVER died from Marijuana (except if they sliped in the bathtub maybe :P) I apologize guys but you have to KNOW in order to answer these questions! We should not be mirror images of our parents (and even grandparents). We should find out on our own about things that concern us. I have a degree in psychology and have specialized quite enough in marijuana addiction and abuse. Please guys try to read material from a greater variety otherwise you only succeed to perpetuate ideas and statements that are absolutely false. I have studied many researches that see weed as adequately safe in most cases. Of course there is a small percentage of individuals that are vulnerable to schizophrenia and may experience psychotic episodes after the use of a joint. DONT forget that we are talking about 1% of people that have the disorder in their genes. I will soon attach a paper here full with FACTS and accuracies in order to enlighten peoples minds. People that listen and imitate others without having a sound opinion are just DANGEROUS!!! People, lets grow up! Medical marijuana is legal in California and really easy to get from a physician that prescribes it. If that isn't close enough for you, then you can travel to Amsterdam where it is officially legal. It is almost becoming a gray area in California where the legal lines are blurring. If alcohol and tobacco are legal, I agree that marijuana should be. The answer is because Marijuana causes brain cells to deteorate and therefore you lose control of things and it is possible to suffer hallucination The government makes more money from fining users than they would trying to tax it. Absolutely agree (although, you will see all the brainwashed people give us "thumbs down"). The big drug companies would lose billions of $ if marijuana were legalized because of it's many beneficial effects and the fact that it's a weed and can be grown just about anywhere. The fascists within our government don't like marijuana either because it opens people's minds and allows us to see things we normally would not see. go to http://www.jackherer.com it should explain everything, but the main reason is economics, marijuana was made illegal because of the Dupont Chemical Corporation and remains illegal to this day because of the pharmaceutical lobby, petroleum lobby, police lobby, alcohol lobby, among others. Because DuPont convinced congress trees were better to make paper out of instead of hemp. They grow hemp in Canada to feed cattle make rope and make potato sacs. But here in order to Keep DuPont rich they can not even import the cattle feed hemp from Canada frustrating a lot of farmers. WAY TO GO DUPONT! With all of these statistics, do you actually know any full time users? Do you think they believe it is not addictive??? It can kill brain cells, cause mental health problems, some severe, it makes you broke, it makes severe hardship for families and children which then leads to fights like alcohol, it affects your memory. Most users also smoke tobacco with their marijuana which then gives them all of the problems associated with tobacco. It can also lead to other, harder drugs which can end you up in psychiatric care. Must I go on? It is illegal because it should be because it is bad for you. I have tried it several times in my teen years and believe anything that makes you "high", including pot, is obviously doing something to affect your brain which it is not meant to do. Oh, and the **** stinks!!! I am not flying off on this subject as I don't see a big problem with the occassional use, but it usually ends up full time and what I have written here it facts from life, not just opinion. its legal here |
