Is patient care unit the same thing as intensive care unit?

Is patient care unit the same thing as intensive care unit?

No. A patient care unit is just the usual hospital floor- and an intensive care unit is a specialized floor that provides care to critically ill persons.

NO!!!!!!

No, a patient care unit, also known as a Medical/Surgical Med/Surg unit is a lower acuity level ward for mostly stable patients. Intensive care units (ICU) or critical care units (CCU) are generally reserved for sicker patients requiring intense nursing care and 24 hour medical attention.

No it isn't. I have been in ICU on the ventilator 3 times and cried when they sent me to the med floor for care isn't that good there.
