What's more serious Intensive Care or Critical Care?

What's more serious Intensive Care or Critical Care?

I've always thought of them as synonymous.

They are the same thing. Different hospital call it by different names.

The less intensive/critical care units might be called stepdown, or transitional care units.

depends what the hospital calls it.....they are identical..

I use to work CCU, ( coronary care unit) which can also be
combined with the above but mainly for heartpatients.....especially
post op and then to be moved to a lower unit.

They are the same in some hospitals. In mine, critical care is a step more serious than intensive care.

Order of seriousness:
intensive/critical care, step-down, floor (regular room)

Ask a nurse or doc at the hospital you are concerned with. They'll be able to give the right answer.
