Insulin Resistance...?

I'm 13, 250lbs..[Which is almost making me cry to type it.] I'm 5'9 and I have Insulin Resistance. I need to fix this. I'm eating away my health and my self esteem. I hate the way I look. I need the help to do this. This is my sad story...Help me write the happy ending?

I suggest you see a nutritionist...Get someone to help you work out a meal plan as well as an exercise plan.
A good nutritionist will work with you to help you wean off any habits that are especially affecting your ability to loose the weight...such as cravings for sweets and other high carb foods.
Also, I've known people that are in a similar situation as you and have found that acupuncture and some Chinese herbal remedies have helped them with this...so it would probably be beneficial to you to make an appointment with a naturopathic doctor.
Hang in there...it can be managed!
By the way, were you diagnosed with PCOS?

Hey girl insulin resistance is a very difficult thing to deal with especially regarding weight.
You have to follow a VERY, VERY strict diet to keep the excess weight off. You need to stay away from the refined sugars like they are plague! Don't even indulge in a single candy bar once a month because it sticks to us IR'ers like glue.
Ask your doctor to send you to a nutritionalist who knows about IR.
You can do this, I know you can.
If you can't get to a doctor try Weight Watchers or look for a sugar busters diet book.

hi,i'm diabetic type 2 injecting insulin. i've recently found out on the web how animals are reared for our food. i instantly became a Vegan .this way i can do the right things for animals AND reduce my weight.it's been a week so far,lost 3lbs...living on soup [farting a lot].i've read that it's possible to go off medication ALTOGETHER DOING THIS!!!
i read about male baby chicks being thrown into a mincer while still alive [how can i eat chicken after reading that?]
cows being forced into having calves every year so that they can continualy produce milk.no i can't do it..whatever you do good luck with it..God bless
