Anyone familiar with insulin resistance?

Recently found out I show signs of insulin resistance and was told to cut out carbs and sugar. Is there a maximum amount of both I should consume per day? Is insulin resistance reversible?

Insulin resistance is caused by the cells in your body not wanting to let insulin in to do the job that it is supposed to.
There are some conditions where it shown to be reversible, but Ayuruvedic medicine and liver flushes are not among them. Exercise and weight loss are the most common ways that insulin resistance can be countered. Other ways are with drugs like Avandia. Only a doctor can tell whether this is right for you. It is intended for use with brittle diabetics (type III) and type II diabetics.
The questions about how much carbs to consume in a day are best answered by a dietician. Contact one at the health risk management centre run by the county health office.

Insulin resistance is reversible with liver detoxes and certain herbal medicines. see

Some earlier messages in the same title but lesser chapter number do talk about carbohydrates, glycosugars etc for your guidance. e.g. dates are useful.

Did your dr give you a diagnosis? I have PCOS-polycystic ovarian syndrome and part of that diagnosis was insulin resistance...it has other symptoms too. It is not reversible, were you put on glucophage or another type2 diabetic medication? You should be following a diabetic diet to reduce carbs and sugar. That is the best way to tell you how many carbs/sugar to consume.

Most obese people and who are on high calori diets have this, space your meals with small amounts, if you are type 2 DM adding oral drug may help Insulin.
