PCOS, Elevated Prolactin, Insulin resistance, lack of periods?

I have been under the hospital for nearly a year for a lack of periods, basically i get on every 4/5 months sometimes more
when it does come i get it sooo heavy the first day and then just spottin for a day or too. i am in increasing pain i have to take 3-4 strong cocodamol and a heat pad sometimes i have to take the day off work and lay in bed or get ina hot bath.
I also get hair growth on my neck, chin and breasts.

yesterday i went back to the hospital and the consultant told me that i have all of the above and i shall be put on the medication metformin which is for diabetics but has been under study for my problems and i have been prescribed this. i had to sign a disclosure for this as it is unlicensed.
i was also told that i may not be able to conceive and if after 12months of trying then they will offer me help. they also said due to my insulin resistance that i may develop diabetes in the future.

Any help or advice for me greatly appreciated

had my thyroid checked and all fine thank u.
yes prolactin secretes a hormone called prolactin and this is elevated so i know i have a hormone imbalance

I sense that this is all the result of a hormonal imbalance. The main clue is not your primary symptoms but the hair growth. I recommend having your thyroid gland checked for the imbalance. Hair growth is a tell-tale sign, the region of the growth is a clue to which gland is hormonally imbalanced. Also the Adrenal gland and sex glands and Pituitary glands can be (and should) checked for imbalanced hormones. If you start a hormonal regimen stick to Soy Bean Derived Hormones as they are matched closer to what your body produces than any synthetic hormone.

I can't really give you much advice or help, but I hope things get better for you.

I have known people to have PCOS and still be able to conceive naturally, and I hope you are one of those people. One thing you can do, is keep taking care of yourself. Keep healthy and avoid getting high blood pressure. Monitor your diet and keep yourself in shape so as to keep your cholesterol in check.

The reason for all this is to reduce the risk of metabolic syndrome, which leaves you susceptible to heart trouble. If you look up metabolic syndrome, you will find a lot of information.

I really hope things look up for you and I wish you good luck!

Pcos is pretty common. If you are overweight, losing some of that weight will help dramatically. I always recommend find a massage therapist near you who is certified to do Mayan abdominal massage. They have GREAT results with PCOS using a massage technique and castor oil packs etc... but the results are very successful with this type of treatment.
