I weigh over 200 pounds. and i'm 15. i have insulin resistance and it hard for me to loose weight. tips? help!

okay and don't "answer" the question and tell me that i'm a whale and that i should get lypo cause thats really not all that helpful.
the over production of insulin makes it hard for me to loose the wieght. its mostly genetic and otherwise i'm healthy but i just wanna try EVERYTHING incase i missed something that could actually work

Insulin is just a small part of weight loss. I pretty much live in a family of endomorphs, yet I look so skinny people mistake me for an ectomorph, partly because of my blessed poor appetite. Since I'm an endomorph, I'm probably insulin-resistant too, but at 5 feet 4 and 120 pounds, I hardly look like one. I was pretty chubby in the past, but I've been researching weight loss and proper diet for a long time and now I actually look pretty muscular.

To lose weight, all you need is patience, consistency and determination. There are certain things people keep ignoring when they try to lose weight:
1) You need to change your lifestyle. People go on crash diets and lose some pounds, then they get back to their old eating habits, hence gaining more pounds, and the cycle repeats again. Junk food and soft drinks are evil, period. They are the main culprits for a big stomach.
2) Do cardio consistently at an intensity that totally wear you out. It makes you lose weight faster. Don't underestimate inconsistency, it's the main clause of failure for those flat-ab wannabes.
3) Don't rush weight loss. You can only lose 2.5lbs per week at MOST. Any more and you're losing muscle as well. Don't expect visible results in a week or two. They only start to show after a month or so. Do you really think you gain all those pounds of fats in just a few weeks? Then don't expect to shed them pretty soon. As long as you persevere, you'll be rewarded.

You can have an insulin problem and still work out. This way all of your body mass will be muscle not fat. Try e-diets, they have lots of advice for different people--diets and exercises and recipes (and it's free).

unfortunately the only healthy way to lose weight is diet and excersize i know every one will say this but unfortunately you just have to resist the temptation of the world, sorry im not much help

Emma, how can I stress this enough....get LOTS of regular exercise.

I went to Thailand at 92kg body builder, I came back 72kg, with lots of daily exercise, and the heat helped too.

It did take 18 months though.

What you are going through is very frustrating. Are you drinking enough water? Exercising? I don't know of anything else besides diet but you probably already know enough about that. Good luck, don't get frustrated.

The only way to successfully combat insulin resistance is through exercise. My wife had the same problem and successfully combated it by walking 4 miles a day.

Try eating less and exercising more...(works 99 % of the time)
...Not trying to be mean or funny just stating the facts...Most people want quick answers...this is the only true healthy way to lose weight...

iam insulin resistant aswell i only just found out and unfortunatly its not easy. i think the best thing for both of us is to see a dietition thats what im doing, in the mean time ive cut out white bread, sugar and pasta. you really need to stat watching your callorie intake witch means no sweets or fast food and you need to eat small meals at five times a day BREACKFAST IS A MUST !excersize aswell at 20mins a day even if its just a walk. you also have to understand that the weight loss wont happen over night and this is not just a diet it has to be a complete lifestyle change !good luck xxxx

i used to weigh 84kgs (I'm not sure what that is in pounds) when i was 13/14. My solution was i joined a sport. Surf Life Saving to be exact. It has helped me in many ways. I am now 16 and weigh 70.9kg which has been that way for the last year and a half. There are a huge range of sports that you can join and its never to late to start. Hope you might try. cheers

Man i used to be a whale too , until i started working out . But not like in the gim only , i started practicing judo , and i really liked it so i started going 4 days a week , i've been practicing for 3 years now well not always 4 days a week but i can say that now there is nothing whalish in me anymore :) . Anyway my point is find a sport you like and start practicing . Going to the gim just to lose weight is boring most of the time , the trick is to have fun doing it :) . And try without no chemistry or such things , they all have side effects . Natural losing weight may be slow but its safe . If you want to lose weight fast well i'll have to dissappoint you it doesn't happen with a magic stick up your azz :)

To successfully lose weight, you must carry out
a plan to balance your caloric intake with exercise.
Ideally, dieting should be done by eating a nutritionally
balanced, low-calorie diet and increasing physical activity.
