What is Insulin Resistance?

I have just been diagnosed with this after a pre-conception check up! I don't know or understand exactly what it is and what I can do to make sure this doesn't stop me from conceiving! ANY SUGGESTED SOURCES OF INFO would really help! THANKS

It probably won't have a thing to do with your conception! But it might cause you to have to take insulin later in the pregnancy.

Insulin Resistance is where you are making enough insulin, but the muscles won't accept its work in accepting the glucose in your system. So the glucose gets stuck in the blood on the red blood cells, instead of feeding your muscles.

This is another way to say Pre Diabetes! And before conception you can take a number of different drugs that make the muscles accept the glucose. But when pregnant, should not be taken, so insulin is used to control the glucose levels.

You should cut the number of carbs in your food plan. Low Carb will become a way of life!! Exercise is another of the lifestyle changes! Must double it in order to help control the problem.
